The Powder Metallurgy Association of South Africa (PMA) is a non-profit organisation

Established in 1980 representing the powder metallurgy (P/M) Industry in South Africa.

The aims of the PMA are:

	To further P/M and related topics in all branches of science and industry.
	To arrange meetings of powder metallurgists (and workers in associated disciplines) in South Africa.
	To act as liaison between members of the PMA and international bodies.

The current association has members from throughout the country that are actively involved in powder metallurgy. The PMA is steered by a committee representing the P/M industries in South Africa. The Committee consists of a Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and a minimum of five additional committee members.

Some of the PMA’s achievements have been:

	Holding an annual Symposium, and inviting international specialists in the P/M field to form ties and keep members abreast of the latest technologies.
	Organising an international conference in South Africa in 1995.
